The Kurdish singer Rojda was born in 1978, in the village Tutun near the town Qûrtalanê in the region of Sêrt (Western Kurdistan). She went to Istanbul to study after primary school. In 1991, she started to study music with the band Koma Gulen Xerzan (Koma Gulên Xerzan) which belongs to her brother. This band starts to work with MKM (Mesopotamia Culture Center) after 1993.

In 1994 as a band they finished their first record Koma Xerzan - "Şehîd Jibîr Nabin” (Unforgetables). Their second album is “Sonda Me” (Our Oath). The song Helime on this recording made Rojda's voice popular. In 1997, she is one of eleven women who form the group Koma Asmin. Rojda works with them for a while, but she cannot handle both bands in the same time, so she finally leaves "Koma Asmîn". In 2003, Rojda marries Aleattin Aykoç, who is a member of her band.

Their third album was “Rûkena min” (My Cheerful Face) published in 2005. Video clips of two songs “Memet Kanî” and “Elo Dino” were the candidates of "best video clip" of a video clip competition in Zaxoda. In 2006, Rojda resigns from Koma Gulên Xerzan and starts to work for her own record. Now she is continuing her musician life as solo artist “Rojda”. Her first solo albums are "Hat" in 2011 and "Stranên Bijartî" in 2012. Please give us Kurds as a "minority" of a stateless 28-million-people with its ancient and very diverse culture, this opportunity! Thank you.
