Rob Bohrman, born December 29, 1985, is a musician and student in Auburn, Alabama. He describes his music as visual, minimalist, and ambient, and sometimes uses the name “Rob Bohrman Has Music” when presenting his work to various internet audiences. Currently, he uploads his songs to internet music sites such as myspace (http://www.myspace.com/greyinlay) and last.fm as he records them. The songs are primarily instrumental, with a sprinkling of soft, chanting vocals.

Listeners have described his music as surreal, hopeful, sadly beautiful and calming. All songs are intricately layered and unique, and bear a subtle power capable of stirring the quietest emotions. Rob, who has been a drummer since the age of ten, picked up the guitar and keyboards in the last several years and plays all of the instruments in his music. He did not seriously consider exploring and creating music on his own until he was inspired by the Dave Matthews Band, particularly the unconventional and versatile percussion style of drummer Carter Beauford. Playing in a band for three years also served to strengthen his musical creativity.

With this inspiration, along with the influence of Sigur Ros, Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, and Coldplay, Rob began creating soft, ambient music for relaxation primarily for himself, but soon found that others enjoyed his music as well. Rob’s approach to both creating music and planning his musical future is holistic. He says his music “can go wherever it wants” as long as people are enjoying it, but hopes for the opportunity to make his living with music, whether that means a record deal or collaboration with others on film or commercial projects. "If others enjoy it as much as I do, that makes it a hundred times better." Read more on Last.fm.
