The music was within a techno framework but with break beat overtones. Richard performed two gigs in London at the turn of the millennium - firstly at the acclaimed Sprawl night (London's underground playground and test-tube for new sound) and then at Moon Palace near Kings Cross alongside Pilote and DJs from expanding records. Richard's experiments in sound texture culminated in 2002 with a seven-inch single called "time is a chasm" recorded under the name "hysteresis". This was played by John Peel in November 2002.
Time moves still for no-one, particularly in the fast-changing world of electronic music so since that time, Richard has been developing new styles of electronic music. The ghost of acid has always been with Richard - after all, he grew up in the 1980s next door to the M25. By 2005, Richard was applying the skills and technique he learned crafting electronic soundscapes to using analog synths and sound modules. Cinematic Acid is as much for the local independent cinema as it is for the dancefloor.
The 303 is an immensely feral sound and lends itself well to music with a soundtrack feel. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
