He is currently under the mentoring and guidance of flute professor Ruben López, which is a member of the Puerto Rico Symphonic Orchestra.He currently collaborates with singer/composer Danny Rivera. Ricardo's first CD, titled "Paso a Paso Entre Amigos" (Step by Step Among Friends) was released in late june 2007. In this production bassist Ramón Vazquez participates as composer, arranger and as musician. In addition to Ramón Vázquez, some of the most talented jazz musicians in Puerto Rico participated in this CD.
These include trompet player Humberto Ramírez, pianist Yan Carlos Artime, percussionist Javier Oquendo and drummer Efraín Toro. Ricardo Chiesa's Paso a Paso Entre Amigos presents us a very intriguing and interesting musical proposal in which latin jazz rythms are intermingled with Puerto Rican "salsa", "bomba", and "danza", producing an exquisite musical experience, centered on Chiesa's virtuosity.
