There are at least 5 artists called Rest: 1) Rest are an instrumental rock group from Cork, Ireland. The group's sound has evolved over the course of their existence to incorporate elements of progressive rock, tech-metal, post-rock, doom, black metal and math rock. The groups sound is characterised by intricate harmonised riffs, complex drum patterns, unconventional song structures, a heavy emphasis on dynamics and alternating time signatures. As well as releasing one album and an EP on Limerick independent record label Out on a Limb Records, the band has also toured Ireland and the United Kingdom, sharing stages with the likes of Isis, Cult of Luna, Oxbow, Baroness, Torche, Zu, Red Sparowes and Explosions in the Sky. 2) REST formed in 2014, by wish of the guitar player Alessandro Coos (already active with the post-blackmetal band ASHES OF NOWHERE) to start a crust/blackmetal project with the idea of merging together the semplicity of crust music and the dark side of black metal. Joined by Mattia Revelant on drums, Efis Canu (already singer of the hardcore band INIRA) as vocalist and Marco Zuccolo (already active with the post-hardcore band WHANE) as bass player, the guys recorded in August 2015 their first tracks at Inferi Studio, run by the same Efis Canu.

Fierce, through a classic Swedish Boss HM2 Sound, the band's first EP is pure violence and sweat! The album was completed around the beginning of 2016 and displays an amazing artwork by the indie photographer Martin De Martin. If to present in a few words this band and its EP, we would certainly say: "REST's self-titled debut EP is a punch in the stomach for all All Pigs Must Die and The Secret's lovers! No compromise crust blackened hardcore for this band hailing from Udine, Italy! A sick journey in conspiracy and suffering." 3) Rest were born in 1998 (originally as a duo consisting of Fabio and Peppe) and their firt phase featured post-rock, hardcore and alternative sounds. They recorded two demotapes in 1999 and 2001. They gained a distribution contract with LoudBlast Records with ‘Nothing’.

In 2003 the band starts to push more experimentation out, Fabio leaves the band, Cosimo replaces him; from 2005 to 2006, the band explores the fields of ambient and electronic music thank to the synths of Cosimo delVecchio. Currently the band is a trio consisting of Giuseppe Chiumeo (guitar, vocals), Ruggiero Lanotte (drums) and Cøsimo Summo (bass, mac). They’ve recorded an EP, ‘No one knows what means the clean’, which covers the latest production of the band, focused on groovy, slow and powerful sounds guided by the frantic Ruggiero drumming. 4) Rest (b. 2007) is a four-piece instrumental group who’s sole desire is to express through music their thoughts and emotions associated with the reality that is present in their hearts.

Their debut “EP” was released in the summer of 2008 and their full length album "Ten Thousand Talents" was released in the spring of 2010. 5) Rest is a Czech freestyle rapper. 6) Rest is a Punk/Shoegaze band from Boston, Massachusetts http://tinyurl.com/restbnd Read more on Last.fm.
