Rejyna is a composer, guitarist, vocalist, performer and studio artist who has worked in all types of bands and musical genres. A great bulk of her work can be heard on the releases of the rock band Citadel, who has been releasing their own indie music for the last three decades. Being a fan of fantasy and science fiction artforms, Rejyna brings the essence of daydreams, fantasies, visions and aspirations into her songs about hope, love, self-realization and compassion. Since she claims to be influenced by metal, progressive rock, new age, folk, bluegrass, jazz, flamenco, classical and world music styles, the resulting songs that she writes can end up just about anywhere on the genre map.

When she is playing with a band, she electrically meshes unique hooks and phrases into the sound making each song sound like it is from a different artist by using acoustic 6 and 12 string guitars, mandolins, autoharps, bass guitars and midi guitars. When she is playing solo with her acoustic, a looper and a vocal harmonizer, she draws from her more earthy musical influences. After being a part of dozens of band releases over the years, Rejyna finally decided to release a live CD of one of her solo performances. Her CD, ‘Solo Sojourn live’ is about finding or rediscovering oneself, believing in oneself, hanging on to our dreams and hopes, and treating the world and others around us with compassion and encouragement. On stage, Rejyna plays the rhythm guitar passages while simultaneously recording them live onto a Digitech JamMan phrase looper.

The looper then replays those parts while Rejyna sings and/or adds additional guitar leads and harmony guitar leads to those passages. Also during this guitar layering process, Rejyna sings into a vocal harmonizer that creates realistic multi- part vocal harmonies based on and mixed alongside her original voice. The result is a full, natural sounding sonic presentation that comes across like more than one person is playing and singing. You can check out Rejyna’s live shows or web videos to watch the process for yourself. Due in great part to her insatiable appetite for cutting edge technology, Rejyna has also worked in the film, video, audio, publishing, broadcast, architecture and electronics industries.

She holds a degree in Design and is currently pursuing a degree in Music Therapy. One of her main goals is to help bring music and sonic healing into the mainstream of preventative and rehabilitative care for humans and animals alike, at all stages of life. Rejyna believes that music is an invisible drug that has the potential to heal everyone.
