Music to the glittering, wild, ablaze locks, which I saw lying on the snow white shoulder of a colleen called Molly, once in my dream :) Members Dóra Edit Magyari – singer, vocalist Anna Majoros – flute, tin whistle, alto saxophone Viktória Majoros – singer, vocalist, guitarist Borbála Papp – bass player Rebeka Pártos – bodhranist, singer, vocalist, guitarist Lilian Precskó – violinist, vocalist https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDuW4YFFWGubVhzlfSzrRqw History The Red Locks was founded in the spring of 2013, based on Dóri’s dream - she wanted a band that plays mild, beautiful Irish and celtic folk music and consists only of gorgeous ladies. The Majoros sisters joined that time and not long after in the summer Rebeka, too. In the autumn, Lilian brought a sparkle with her violin and in the spring of 2014 the bass sounds arrived with Bori. The band has given quite a lot of concerts since the autumn of 2013, and we proudly report that we have been asked to play on the Sziget Festival’s Irish-blues stage on the 16th of August 2014. Genre Mainly we play mild, ladylike music, our main line is Irish-celtic traditional folk music. Beside that we play some covers, on one hand we choose songs from other celtic folk bands, on the other hand, we play songs with very varied styles on our way.

With great pride we can say we also have a quite large number of songs which we wrote, and this number is growing day by day. For our songs we try to use the atmosphere of celtic traditions, in the music and in the lyrics as well. Destinations Till now we played before other great bands as the warm up band. We are really happy to say that we have a great relationship, I can also say friendship with those bands, and we are happy to warm the crowd for them in the future as well. The band had a quite upward road till now, we had more and more referrals and opportunities day by day, the only thing we could wish for is to stay on that road.

All of us has their own personal professions and destinations in life beside music, so none of us really wants to quit those to become a musician, but we guess that maybe this is the secret ingredient in our music: the fact, that this is the music of joy, and it will be like this in the future as well. For some of us this is the first try as a member of a serious band, so we have some miles forward to take, we can call progression as our main destination, and also to take our music for more and more people in the world. Acknowledgement We would like to mention here four bands, whom we have a good friendship with, and whom we had concerts with before. First of all the Traveller's Company. They play traditional Irish music, mainly the pub-like songs, and they also like to mix it with other cultures' traditions. Our flute player, Anna is also the member of this band, and there are some childhood friendships and romantic stories between the two bands. For next we would like to mention the band called Finnegan's Wake.

They also play this traditional, pub-like Irish music, and nowadays they have some fantastic rethinked covers of today's music hits mixed with the celtic traditions. We are very thanful for them for our debut concert. They were the ones, who invited us first to be their warm up, and it was a fantastic night. They still help us as much as they can, and we appreciate that very much. The next one is a folk-punk band, called LochNesz.

We played before them first on the debut concert of their latest album, and both of us were very surprised how great the two band matched on one night. We had a lot of concerts with them till then, and we hope this is just the beginning. Last but not least, we would like to thank the friendship of the Jolly Jackers. They are quite far away from Budapest, but we still get a lot of support from them, especially from Stewie, the singer of the band. Dreams Although some of us were that lucky to visit Ireland before, we would be so happy to travel there together, and maybe to take a music tour in that country. We can also say that our really big dream would come true if we ever could play together with such fantastic musicians and bands, like The Dubliners, Loreena McKennitt, The Corrs or the Celtic Woman (and we could mention more).

We are planning to record some albums, but those are just dreams yet (except the demo, which is in progress) but we hope these will come true soon. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
