Throughout the last 2.5 years, Indianapolis, Indiana-based Red Light Driver has been making sizable waves with their atmospheric blend of pop. RLD formed in October 2006 with members from popular Midwest acts, Lunar Event, The Shivers, and Pop Lolita. The band comprises of Derek Osgood, vocalist, guitar player; Mike "Shimmercore" Contreras, bass guitar player, multi-instrumentalist, backing vocalist; Jonathan Harmon, guitarist; and Drew Reed, drums and percussion. During the first year of formation, the band released an EP, "Drinks for the Delayed" - which found its way onto the playlists of many college and commercial radio stations, allowing the opportunity to share the stage with indie contemporaries like VHS or BETA, Asobi Seksu, The Mary Onettes, and many others. In early 2008, the band began writing and recording music for "...and Now We Can Be Ourselves." Joining with producer Paul "Mahan Kalpa" Mahern, of Zero Boys fame, the band began moving in a decidedly different direction - conveying the spirit of early The Jesus & Mary Chain or the influential psychedelia of Spacemen 3.

Droned out Telecasters and bright Rickenbackers collide into big drums and danceable bass lines - all mingling to form a cohesive, moody form of indie-pop. The uncommonly moving ballads of "...and Now We Can Be Ourselves" put the avant-garde back in pop music. Discography 2009's "...And Now We Can Be Ourselves" was released nationally February 10th on Mojo Tsunami/MFT Records and is currently charting on radio stations across the nation. CDs and downloads available everywhere online, or support your local independent record stores by picking up a copy there. 2007's "Drinks for the Delayed" available everywhere online. An Eight song EP (4 studio tracks, 4 live tracks) featuring RLD's first single "Lights", which was well received by college and commercial stations in the Midwest, along with video airplay on independent music video channels.
