A specialist in Jewish music and a versatile Wedding singer living in Calgary AB, Rebecca’s voice has been described as “beautiful”, “superb” and with a “range of emotion that is rare”. A cantorial solist, Rebecca has appeared internationally, locally and out of province at various venues - synagogues, churches, mosque halls, galleries, conferences, fundraisers, and Canada Day celebrations. She especially enjoys co-officiating at interfaith weddings and providing the vocal music chosen by the couple. Her debut CD "Ani Ma’amin" was introduced at a very successful concert in 2003 that attracted a large audience and continues to sell in North America and Europe. In the summer of 2006 she produced and sang in "Nostalgia" a concert of Jewish Tango & Sephardic music that was also recorded by CBC Radio Canada. Born in Edmonton, raised in an artistic Judaic milieu in Winnipeg, a distinguished stage and film career with an early role as “Anne” in the Canadian premiere of the Diary of Anne Frank, Rebecca has also received awards for her theatrical performances, including a Calgary Region Arts Foundation citation for music (2006). Rebecca has recently studied under the reknowned Sephardic specialist Dr. Ramon Tasat in Washington, at the Jewish Music Institute in London, England, at the Banff Centre with jazz diva Sheila Jordan, with Richard Armstrong, founding member of the Hart Theatre in France, and at a recent master class with Theodore Bikel.
