Mark Byrd is a native of Chicago's West side. He grew up in the Rockwell Gardens neighborhood which is known for its crime and violence. Those elements are noticeable influences in Mark's aggressive style and delivery. He was at the fork in the road when he decided to go straight. Not many men make it out of his neighborhood, but Mark managed to find peace in his rhymes. His street savvy comes to life as he paints pictures of his "hood" in words. Terrance Mcdowell, also from west side of Chicago but considers the stage his home. With a microphone in hand, he transforms into Chi-Leak. His quick delivery style is admired by peers as well as fans.

He offers comical lyrics that entertains and amuses all audiences. Chi infuses heart and emotion into his songs, that creates his energy. Penn the god has lived all over the Midwest which probably explains his knack for switching flows and timely punch lines. He brings those lyrical ingredients from all his past homes into a stew as he dives in and out of rhythms while trying to capture the essence of a song. Together, the high energy team of Project: Fr3sh is embarking on a journey that will forever change the course lives.

There unique style and various characters coupled with there lyrical prowess has made them a group of promise on the hip-hop soul scene. The three young men, Chi-Leak, Mark Byrd, and Penn the god were close friends and all successful solo artists in their own right. In April of 2007 while discussing the musical landscape, they gave birth to the idea of a group and Project Fr3sh was conceived. Together, they feel that there is a message that can be spread through out the world that penetrates the hearts of all races, religions, and cultures and deals with the human element. Currently, Project: Fr3sh is touring in which they have performed at such events as Nike Basketball Just Play Tournament and IL Senator Ricky Hendon youth rally.
