Powerslib is a punkrock band with four members from Dordrecht, The Netherlands. Non-diet fat punk is what they play: ear-splitting, high-speed punkrock with plenty of room for melody. The band finished their first full-length album "Tag Along With Mass Stupidity" early in 2005. The songs on this release contain elements from various styles and deal with political, social and personal matters. With this new album, Powerslib is ready to hit the road. In the summer of 2001, a band emerged from the suburbs of Dordrecht, starting off as three guys playing coversongs.

In 2002 it evolved into a foursome, who set out to write their own songs and to find their own sound. After gaining some live-experience, Powerslib released a six-track demo cd in April 2003: "Don't Follow Us, We're Lost Too!!". It was well recieved and after that the band played many shows, with bands like Travoltas, I Against I, Of No Avail and Against Time. During the year that followed up to the release, Powerslib decided to head into a new direction, by changing their poppy, playful sound to a louder and more serious punkrock sound. The content of the new songs is more mature and carries messages which vary from political statements to social and personal matters. Besides this, there is always room for songs with more humorous content. In 2004, Powerslib starting recording a full-length album.

This effort, entitled "Tag Along With Mass Stupidity", was released in January 2005. There are thirteen songs featured on the album, all with an unique punkrock sound, in which ingredients from other styles can be found as well. Playing live is what Powerslib lives for. The band will put on an energetic, humorous and entertaining show that will remain etched upon your memory! Read more on Last.fm.
