Poor Man Friend

Poor Man Friend (PMF) is a Roots Reggae Dancehall session band. The band works with several artists who lift up their own lyrics on the powerful Reggae back line of this band using old school riddems still being used in Jamaica today. Put it all in one melting pot and you have a unique show. The show represents a full night Reggae program because of the combination with popular Reggae sound systems most of the times. After 6 successful years and a great line up of Dutch Reggae artists, the band worked hard to get the debut album done in 2002. The first album released in 2003 proved to be the fundament for Poor Man Friend as a session band. It’s real Reggae how it is meant to be and loved by most of the hard-core Reggae fans from different generations. The band worked with guest artists named Papeman and Julio Richardson in 2002 (aka Don Cudjo), a perfect sing jay for the Roots Reggae part of the debut Album called “PMF”.

The 2nd album “Come Together” got released in 2005 followed by a strong live album featuring Clinark in close cooperation with Nurture Projects in the United Kingdom. Today the shows continue with artists from the UK and a big talent from Africa. Last but not least they have their own Dutch talents like Billyman and K-Widah. Ras Elijah is your humble Rasta host for PMF band throughout the whole Reggae night.

It’s 2007. Poor Man Friend still helps Reggae rise up from such a small country but with a sound you cannot miss. The live show guarantees all type of Reggae fans, to be served with a trip to Jamaica Sunsplash without buying a flight-ticket to the well-known Sunny Island in the Caribbean. Read more on Last.fm.
