There are at least four projects called Plaster: 1) Pete Litwin (Coffin Break, Daddy Hate Box, Softy), after Softy broke up took a long time before hoping back on the saddle. Plaster formed in 2004 in Seattle with members of RC5 and Jet City Fix. They released a 7" single and recently released a full length album off of Flotation Records titled "New World". 2) Plaster is an electronic music project that was born in Rome in 2008, composed by Gianclaudio Hashem Moniri and Giuseppe Carlini. Their music is characterized by a dark attitude which aims to mix ambient music, deep beats and sharp noises. During their activity there have been various collaborations, mostly with video makers such as Lasal, David Terranova and Emanuele [Tzpx] Foti, which gave life to a series of live performances and studio works.

In 2009 they spent over six months in Berlin with the desire to explore different worlds related to electronic music, to promote their projects and to play live in new contexts. Their self promotion flanked with suggestive live performances, introduced Plaster to a good exposition in the electronic European panorama, giving them the chance to play in cult places and in international festivals, at times sharing the stage with important musicians as Alva Noto, Ryoji Ikeda, Cristian Vogel and Frank Bretschneider. At the moment they are living in Rome, working on concerts, music albums and events organization. Formed by Alex McMahon at the keyboard (Daniel Bélanger, Lhasa, Ariane Moffatt) and Jean-Philippe Goncalves at the drums (Dumas, Martin Léon, Afrodizz) the two former Music School of Drummondville students wanted to create electronic music using standard jazz instruments. A year later, following an encounter with bassist François Plante (Afrodizz), the duet quickly widened its horizons. PLASTER aims for a true sensory explosion of beat and ambiance.

Samplers, multi-effects and of course real instruments are tortured to offer ultimate stimuli. Inspired by the music of Amon Tobin, Herbalizer, JazzaNova, Cinématic Orchestra and Medeski Martin & Wood the trio’s biggest strength is the energy captivating audiences to emerge themselves in a new universe of mystical groove. True to itself, PLASTER’s first album was eagerly expected by their fans and underground media. Released in November 2005, this album has been corealised by Cristobal Tapia (One Ton, Jorane) and reached number 1 on electro sales chart at Archambault retail stores across Province of Quebec (2000 units sold since release and steady scans). FIRST AID KIT is very impressive and strong by its jazz sound intensity, boisterous rhythms that move with drum’n’bass beats.

It is a real cranky, eccentric universe that suggests great film scenes. 4) Plaster is Danijel Balaban from Pula, Croatia. See http://www.discogs.com/artist/Plaster%20(2). Read more on Last.fm.
