Peter Graham (Lanarkshire, Scotland) is one of the leading composers for brass band. After his education at Edinburgh University, he followed postgratudate studies with Edward Gregson at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He holds a PhD in composition. After working in New York City as a freelance composer/arranger and music editor for the Salvation Army music bureau, Graham returned to England to take up a job as composer/arranger for BBC Radio and Television. Peter Graham (Lanarkshire, Scotland) is one of the leading composers for brass band. After his education at Edinburgh University, he followed postgratudate studies with Edward Gregson at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He holds a PhD in composition. After working in New York City as a freelance composer/arranger and music editor for the Salvation Army music bureau, Graham returned to England to take up a job as composer/arranger for BBC Radio and Television. Many of his pieces, like The Essence of Time, On Alderly Edge, Harrison's Dream and Montage have been used as testpieces in band competitions all over the world. Pieces like Windows of the World and Shine as the Light have also been arranged for other types of orchestras, like wind band and fanfare orchestra. Graham has held posts as Music Associate with the famous Black Dyke Band (1997-2004), and as composer-in-residence with Her Majesty's Coldstream Guards Band. He currently resides in Cheshire, England, with his wife Janey, son Ryan and daughter Megan. He is a lecturer at the University of Salford.
