Graduating with Honors in 2004, Henrique de Miranda Rebouças got the prestigious DAAD Scholarship, which gave him an opportunity to complete his education and polish his art under Professor Franz Halasz in University of Music, Augsburg, Germany. During his education the young guitarist had great success taking part in various international competitions and festivals. He participated in many festivals as soloist and sideman. His interests in music are very diverse - besides classics he is active in Argentinean tango, is a part of an ethnojazz ensemble with a Cameroonian singer, for a while he was lead guitarist (electro) in a rock band. But (for obvious reasons) Brazilian popular music continues to occupy special place in his repertoire. Misha Ognianer got his education at the Munich University of Music under Prof.
E. Wirssaladze and Prof. F. Berger (graduated in 2004 with distinction).
While still at school and later at the University, Misha Ognianer took part in many international piano competitions and festivals. His awards and distinctions include: Grand Prix and Van-Cliburn-Scholarship at the "Interlochen International Center for the Arts" Music Competition (1993, Michigan, USA); "Scholarship for exceptional young artists" by "Creditbank" (1995, Moscow, Russia); Scholarship of the Jehudi Menuhin Society "Live Music Now!" (2000-2004). Misha is active as a performing jazz pianist since 1995. His stylistic versatility ranges from free jazz to pop music, from ethnojazz to swing, from stride piano to rock. He is often playing with singers, but also in small combos and instrumental duets.
However, Brazilian music and - consequently - this duo is for him an absolute "pet project". Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
