At first he formed a band with Sascha Moser and Franziska Schubert (also known as Franzi Underdrive) from the The Inchtabokatables. Franziska left and Martin Rauer joined.

After a while Dietmar Schmidt also joined them, and they formed Orgasm Death Gimmick. The line-up was by then as follows: Dietmar Schmidt; singer, trumpet player Martin Rauer; bass Sven Kruspe (Richard Kruspe); guitar Sascha Moser; drums The band played and recorded their tapes in a studio Sven built up with Paul Landers (Feeling B then, now guitarist of Rammstein). Sometimes it was too cold to play guitar in the studio, which led to a bag pipe part in the song Say Nothing. The studio was located in Berlin, at the Schönhauser Allee 5.
