All these recorded on a tascam Porto5 4-track cassette recorder. In 1998 "NAUTILUS" and "WAVES" made their debut on the compilation Merry Maladies on the Cleopatra label but was not followed up until the Rozz Tribute album THE TONGUE ACHIEVES THE DIALECT. From Omewenne's grief over Rozz's death (he was to her an ex lover, a spiritual brother and an adored friend) came IN WINDS OF TIME MY BODY the collaboration they'd always wanted to create. As yet there are no new full length releases.
Bad timing, bad luck and a sound that defies categorizing added to mental illness has led her to a new approach-do it yourself... Omewenne's own mysterious path, her adoption, her travels as a child and later during her marriage, the constant moving about that children of military families endure, childhood abuse, rape, never a sense of coherency of anything other than fragments washing up on a shoreline. Theatre, film, poetry, stand behind music for her as she faces her past ghosts and encompasses within her work the otherworldly, dramatic, eerie, beautiful sorrows. The ice storm creates a stillness.
A fading flower droops. Fire produces faces for the ancients... New work is coming and old work revisited.
