Ollin is an ambient/world/fusion/acid jazz/experimental project. It's core members,Radek Kordasiewicz (polish musician, lyricist and composer) and Juan R. Leon (Chapman Stick,Native American Flutes and fretless basses), fuse sparse tonal environments, ambient sensibilities, acid jazz vibes,other-worldly beats and gothic drones to form the core of the Ollin sound.A sound that carries the listener on a journey of musical and emotional ecstasy. The unique blend of instrumentation (Chapman Stick,American Indian flutes, loops, soundscapes, processed saxophones,guitars,synths,vocals,8 string basses) makes for an unusual yet comfortable sound."Intrusive Ambient" would be an apt moniker. Formed in May of 2006,the duo began exchanging ideas and files via the internet (the two have yet to actually meet!).The vast distance of both space and time have not been able to diffuse the creative spark that is quickly apparent with only one listen. The band has a philosophy when it comes to their music... "We feel that our music is an expression of freedom.Freedom of ideas and free of corporate bulls%#t.So our music should be made available to everyone with an interest in experimental music. It is this reason that we offer our music for free at our site.Visitors can download all music and related materials (art, photos, etc.) at no cost. All that we ask is that you provide us feedback and spread the word." A 3 song ep,entitled "La Mort En Ce Jardin",is currently available for free download at the bands official site. The upcoming "Never Forget",a full length album, will be available by March 23rd, 2007. The 1st full length release from Ollin, entitled "Never Forget", is due for an online release on March 23rd and will be available as a free download. The album boasts a different sound than the "La Morte En Ce Jardin" ep released in Feb of 2007.Culling from our love of ambient, experimental, minimal, and soundscapes,"Never Forget" is a 6 track musical journey that will stir the emotional and inner senses of the listener.

In 1994, in the aftermath of the Northridge earthquake, the two brothers decided to form a band that would allow them to take their sense of punk rebellion into explorations of Mexican and Chicano folk music. They took the name Ollin from the Aztec word for movement/earthquake. One reviewer wrote "[As the albem begns] you hear Ollin frontmen, and twin brothers, Scott and Randy Rodarte arguing about what station to play, and both brothers will tell you that they tend to disagree from time to time. You also get a hint of progressive politics, when Randy admonishes his dial-turning brother: “Keep on moving to the left, you’re always on the right side.” Finally, the very notion of a radio unpredictably leaping from one form of music to something radically different is the best way to prepare your senses for Ollin, a band which redefines itself with every song."
