Nuray Hafiftaş (August 8, 1964 – February 14, 2018) was a Turkish folk singer and saz player. Nuray Hafiftaş was born in Çıldır, Ardahan Province, Turkey. Soon after her birth, her family moved to Istanbul where Hafiftaş received her primary and secondary education at Taksim school. Nuray Hafiftaş (August 8, 1964 – February 14, 2018) was a Turkish folk singer and saz player. Nuray Hafiftaş was born in Çıldır, Ardahan Province, Turkey. Soon after her birth, her family moved to Istanbul where Hafiftaş received her primary and secondary education at Taksim school. After that she continued her higher education at the State Conservatoire which is part of the Istanbul Technical University (ITU). After graduation, Nuray Hafiftaş continued her professional life as performer at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatoire for 4 years.

At the same time she signed a four-year contract with Radio Istanbul to perform as a singer. Nuray Hafiftaş released more than 13 vocal albums of Turkish folk music. At the same time Hafiftaş had become famous through her music and lyrical compositions in traditional style (over 100 pieces of music), in which she tries to incorporate some new sounds and uses of instruments.
