I've been playing piano since I was 4 and writing songs since I was seven. My parents are artists and musicians so I've been blessed to grow up in a home that appreciated and encouraged beauty- even when it doesn't make financial sense! My earliest memories are of church. I've spent most of my life knowing God and wrestling with how to live life honestly and fully for Him. I'm so grateful that he has given me music to express what is inside me.

It is such a privilege that the music I write sometimes resonates with others. I know the feeling when I hear a song that says exactly what I would say if I could. It's amazing to me that once in a while a song I write does that for someone else. My husband, Will, and I were married in 2000 and we are the happy (and sometimes crazy) parents of three great kids. Jude and Joella are "home-grown" and Jordan was adopted from the beautiful country of Ethiopia.

All three of them show me everyday what it looks like to have the child-like faith Jesus asks of us. Looking back at the last 15 years I think I've been pretty busy! I was always involved in music growing up, but started playing in a worship band in high school. Then came 2 years in Youth With A Mission, and then a move to Columbus. That is where I became part of worship at Joshua House, the young adult service of Vineyard Church of Columbus. That was an amazing season of life helping to lead worship for hundreds and hundreds of passionate young adults and also writing and playing out often.

I also attended The Ohio State University and graduated with an English Literature degree. I recorded my first album, "Tailored" in 1999 and had the opportunity to play some cool places, including the famed "Bitter End" club in New York City. Becoming a wife and mom put my songwriting on hold for a number of years, but I continued to be part of the worship community at our home church, Vineyard Columbus. I started leading a band for our weekend services and have been doing that for the past six years.

It has been amazing to see this church grow into a vibrant, multi-cultural congregation of 7,500 people. I've learned a lot, spiritually and musically from the amazing worshippers who call Vineyard Columbus home. My songwriting picked back up and I've been really working on that the past several years. With the help of producer John Wirtz, I recorded an EP called "My Shadow" in 2006 to help raise money for the adoption of our youngest son.

Since then I've also been part of 2 compilation projects, "Fascinated" and "God is on the Move" (vineyardmusic.com) and hard at work on my new project "The Arc of Grace". I really enjoy writing, co-writing with friends, and the recording process. I am not technically skilled, but I'm slowly learning how to use my little home recording studio. I love music, love to sing, love looking at trees and the joy you catch on kid's faces. I hate injustice, especially against children, and I believe each of us can and should make a difference.

I've been given a great family, near and far, and I have lots and lots of dreams. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
