Noah Barker started studying with Dominic Daurio in the fall of 2005. Classically trained, Noah Barker developed a serious interest for jazz at the age of 16 and pursued it with Mr. Daurio. Other than studying with Daurio, Noah attended the Hartwick College Summer Music Festival and Institute/New York State Music Festival during his summers studying piano and drum set.
Upon graduation from Sullivan West High School in Lake Huntington, NY in 2007, Noah was granted a full scholarship to study jazz performance at the University of Louisville. Through the University of Louisville, Noah Barker has played with jazz giants Lee Konitz, Snooky Young, Antonio Hart, Jeff Hamilton, Dave Samuels, Jimmy Walker, and Joe Piscopo. In addition, he has been to the recording studio with groups from UofL, including the Jazz Ensemble I, which recorded a play-along for a Terry O’Mahoney workbook. In the summer of 2010, Noah Barker studied with jazz master Kenny Werner.
Currently Barker has finished his university education studying both jazz and classical music, and is working on several projects of his own influenced by jazz, classical, pop, fusion, funk, hip hop and electronic music.
