The romantic atmosphere of the album found was crowned by the road movie ballad “Ordinary Guy” and it wouldn’t take long until minor Austrian dance label “Balloon Records” signed Nick Thal for a single in 1998. Refined by Jack Fronczek and the beautiful backing vocals sung by Monika Ballwein “Ordinary Guy” went on air on several radio stations in Austria, Slovenia and even Italy, can still be found on various rock samplers and even played part in MTV’s Clone High USA TVShow aired in the US and Canada. The maxi also features “Dandy” and the beautifully arranged ballad “Susanne” and is still available for sale on ITunes, MSNMusic, Jamba.de, Starzik France and other web music stores around the world. In an attempt to widen horizons guitar player and long-time friend Helmut Bergmann took Nick Thal back to the studios in 2003 to approach the mysteries of electronic pop. The “Spring Collection 03” featured three completely new songs arranged by mastermind Frank Schaden and supported by Horstl “Paco” Gössl.
The maxi’s flag song “One Million Miles” was nominated at the Austrian Project Pop! Competition, added music to ORF TV Sports Show Highlights and is still on air on various Austrian radio stations. Four years later, the Nick Thal Band is about to finish their third studio album named “North”, which is presented in late summer of 2007. It’s produced by Helmut Bergmann, Alex Thal, Fritz Dimmel and Georg Hrauda and recorded in Gettsdorf, at the same place the singer has already checked in ten years ago. It is dedicated to the country the band comes from and features eleven new songs – a new prove that the story has just begun! Get songs at our website: www.nickthal.com Read more on Last.fm.
