After Kajagoogoo / Kaja split around 1985, Beggs went on to form Ellis Beggs & Howard with keyboardist Simon Ellis and singer Austin Howard. EB&H disbanded around 1990, and Beggs went on to play with Iona for several years. Beggs now spends a lot of time as a sideman to various projects and artists (Steve Howe, Gary Numan, Cliff Richard, Belinda Carlisle, ABC, Howard Jones, Seal and many others have utilised his talents) and has also released two solo albums, Stick Insect and The Maverick Helmsman.
