New Street Adventure

“EVERY NOW AND THEN A YOUNG BAND COMES ALONG WHO SHAKE YOU FROM YOUR REVERIES ABOUT POP’S GOLDEN PAST AND REMIND YOU THAT THERE ARE STILL CLASSIC CHAPTERS TO BE WRITTEN” Paul Moody, The Guardian/Q Magazine “SOUL MUSIC HAS ALWAYS HAD A HUGE IMPACT ON THE UK, WITH SUCCESSIVE GENERATIONS APPROPRIATING STATESIDE SOUNDS AND REWORKING THEM INTO SOMETHING MORE INDIGENOUS. NEW STREET ADVENTURE ARE YOUNG SOUL DEVOTEES WHO, THOUGH SMITTEN WITH CRACKLY 45S, SING SONGS ABOUT THEIR CONTEMPORARY LIVES AND DO SO WITH A VOICE TO MATCH.” Read more on Last.fm

NEW STREET ADVENTURE ARE YOUNG SOUL DEVOTEES WHO, THOUGH SMITTEN WITH CRACKLY 45S, SING SONGS ABOUT THEIR CONTEMPORARY LIVES AND DO SO WITH A VOICE TO MATCH.” Mercury Prize Recommends "BANDS DON'T COME MORE EXCITING AND FRESH OUT THE BOX THAN NEW STREET ADVENTURE” Blues and Soul Magazine With the release of ‘Lucky Lady’ on Acid Jazz records, New Street Adventure provide a first taste of the their debut album and set in motion a 2014 they’re determined to make a mark on. New Street Adventure is a band with timeless influences and, with Nick, classic British song-writing sensibility; “The songs are both deeply personal to me, a testament to our experiences and influences as a band, with stories that say something about what we see going on around us” Nick Corbin – vocals & guitar. Wanting to reflect their 2014 debut album as a continuous narrative, New Street Adventure have developed their sound building upon soulful inspirations and deliberatively creating something cinematic in delivery and distinct to their time and place. “We want to change the way soul music is viewed by people. I sing what I know about and we play how it feels right. This is just the start of proving what we’ve got ahead of us” NC. Taken from the second side of the LP, a two-side narrative of struggling to succeed, ‘Lucky Lady’ is part of the story of attraction and love not being the clichéd and idealistic version we are presented. The seven Londoners – Nick Corbin (lead vocals and guitar), Billy Farr (lead guitar), Ashley Hayden (bass guitar), Charlie Myers (keys and synth), Ollie Futcher (Drums), Carmy Love and Emma Noble (backing vocals) - came together in 2012 self-releasing 5-track ‘Say It Like You Mean It’. The release earnt champions such as XFM’s John Kennedy, BBC London DJ Robert Elms (who told Music Week: “NSA are the finest young band I’ve seen emerge for many moons, I am expecting big things!”), Q Magazine and The Guardian journalist Paul Moody, plus artists Edwyn Collins, The Milk, Vanilla Ice and Plan B.

Since the release, the band have toured the UK selling out venues as far away as Dundee’s Reading Rooms, sold-out their EPs and limited edition 7” and started their own bi-monthly club-nights including sold-out nights at the legendary 100 Club, The Borderline and St Moritz club as well as making festival debuts in the UK and Europe.
