“All of us coming from different backgrounds, you can hear the influences in the music of the different genres we come from. We also wanted to incorporate an electronic vibe, so we thought NEO GEO was fitting in all aspects.” In 2009 the five-piece from Orange County gained sponsorship from Roland, and was a featured artist on their showcase stage at Winter NAMM ’09. The following year NEO GEO worked tirelessly on their debut studio album with Grammy award-winning producer Cameron Webb. Their self-titled debut album was release on Hardline Entertainment in June 2011 to very positive reviews and new fans. No strangers to high-profile shows, NEO GEO has repeatedly rocked well known music venues nationwide including several infamous LA landmarks: the Roxy, the House of Blues and the Whiskey A Go Go to name a few. Neo Geo has been a KROQ “Locals Only” repeat artist and featured artist on the Rodney on the Roq KROQ show. Additionally Neo Geo’s music video of “Can’t Catch Me” has been in rotation on MTVu. Following the incredible success of their 2010 Vans Warped tour, Neo Geo returned for the 2011 and 2012 Warped tours.
Their song “DT Killer” was featured on the official 2010 Vans Warped Compilation CD, “Can’t Catch Me,” was featured on the Official 2011 Vans Warped Compilation CD and “Sex Robot” was featured on the Official 2012 Vans Warped Compilation CD. In 2013 Neo Geo returned to the studio to record and self-produce their second full length album “Digital DNA” scheduled for release in the fall of 2013. Rainy says the upcoming second album “will be something new and different and yet something with a familiar feeling to the fans that renews their affinity with NEO GEO music”. 2.
