In the same year Negua makes their stage debut, a year later followed by a demo tape. First Xavier Patricio helps the band on vocals on two tracks but he cannot participate 100% in Negua so in 2004 he is replaced by Xiscu López, the current singer. Then the band starts to work on their debut CD entitled "A way out", in 2006 it is released by Luna Negra and Musea (distribution). The record has the collaboration of guest musicians Pito Costa (drums, bass, keyboards) and Juanjo Verdú (guitar) from Pi-2 along Marta Aguilera (backing vocals). - To me Negua their music sounds as a varied and dynamic blend of melodic rock (frequent echoes from modern Rush, especially the guitar), neo-prog (like IQ and some MARILLION) and symphonic prog (with echoes from GENESIS).
The compositions sound fresh, adventurous and contain lots of interesting musical ideas. The Musea website mentions about Negua : "The band's main influences are really wide, from classic Progressive rock (GENESIS, YES, KING CRIMSON or PINK FLOYD) to neo Progressive (MARILLION, IQ...), without mentioning recent bands such as PORCUPINE TREE or DREAM THEATER. One could also hear bits of pop-rock, not unlike Peter GABRIEL's or THE POLICE's." Why this artist must be listed in www.progarchives.com : This is a new and interesting musical project from Spain that blends melodic rock, neo-prog and symphonic rock in a very dynamic and fresh way.
