up until 2005. Starting out as a Producer in '98 at the age of 17-18, he was running a full recording studio and underground label at the age of 21-22. He was involved with local underground acts such as Scarborough Natives, Wikidry, Diabolix, Paraxeny which were based around the Lawrence and Pharmacy (Wexford) area where Monolith was formed also. Along with his brother Crony who began producing at age 13-14 and friend/school-mate Surge Cess, they began making very unique and advanced for their time hip-hop.
Nec Nymbl enjoy's using both digital and analog/acoustic instruments and sounds in his compositions. Nec Nymbl eventually became so dissatisfied with the music industry, the usury of manipulative artists ,and promoters, the decline of quality music and the general state of hip-hop...that it resulted in the abandonment of the public and cyber scene. Thus he entered hermit mode for about 13yrs. However, during that time a secret arsenal of kits were being made, the rarest samples were being unearthed and instrumentals were still being produced and preserved in the Noemadik Sound Lab archive... Nec has decided to re-emerge from the dusty dungeons and dark caverns, and unite with the similar minded heads (musicians/artists and listeners) who would like to preserve the purity of such art-forms. Heavily influenced by Golden Era hip-hop, trip-hop, chill-hop and all genres of music that have heart and soul in it, Nec created instrumentals of all kinds: Raw & Rugged Boom Bap, Hardcore Bangers, Soulful/Funky/Jazzy beats, Melancholic/Melodramatic sounds, dark grimy beats, Lo-Fi and ambient chill grooves, Ethnic fusion and various cinematic and exotic sounding lounge friendly pieces. Nec has been a serious crate-digger for about 20yrs with 10k+ vinyl along with his brother Crony (producer). Producers that have influenced Nec Nymbl are: Nick Wiz, Dj ALX, Pete Rock, Havoc, Dj Muggs, J Dilla, Organized Noize, Sleepy Brown, Rico Wade, Decompoze, Mike Loe, Buckwild, Lord Finesse, Madlib, Dj Krush, Dj Shadow, Dj Scratch, Timbaland, Large Professor, Tony D, Easy Mo Bee, Kutmasta Kurt, 9th Wonder, Dj Jazzy Jeff, Dj Spinna, Kev Brown, K-Def, Insight, Godfather Don, Lord Digga, Dj U-Neek, Swizz Beatz, Just Blaze, Dj Nu-Mark, Dj Babu, Dj Honda, The Alchemist, Masta Ace, Ali Saheed, Jehst, Lewis Parker, RJD2, El-P, Jel, Sixtoo, Morcheeba, Portishead, Tricky, Thievery Corporation, Boards of Canada and other similar producers from the Golden Era of Hip-Hop as well as Trip-Hop. Personal life: Nec has experienced many hardships in life which have helped him grow wiser and see things from a cleaner lens. From a young age, Nec - a troubled and misguided youth - became involved in the drug and party scene, which later evolved into a gang-related lifestyle running blocks as a local drug dealer. Having lived the darkness of the street life, including near death experiences of all sorts, imprisonment, psychological stress, depression, betrayal from crew members, becoming a father at a young age, he was also abandoned by his baby-momma when he began to philosophize life/death and change.
After all this, he began a journey to seek the greater meaning of life and find healing for his soul. After years of seeking, he found the therapeutic methodology which helped heal many of the neurological/psychosomatic illnesses and esoteric impurities that had him chained down. As a result many of the big addictions and toxic ways of life he was living were history and he found inner peace and true joy in things not of this world. After this point his musical compositions and poetry also matured and changed for the better. Maybe this is part of the reason why listening to Nec's music is like playing a soundtrack with many themes and emotions.
