His family went to Holland. After learning dutch, Najim decided to go back to school to earn his diploma in Economy. After Najim earned his diploma, he began working for large companies. In 2004 Najim went back to Afghanistan and stayed there for seven months.
He traveled back to Holland shortly after. Every since Najim was a child, he had an interest in music.. Najim would learn songs and sing along to them. Najim joined his school's music program at the age of 10. Shortly after, he was chosen to be a part of a children’s program that was shown on Afghan Television.
Then at the age of 13, Najim attended Hindi Classical Music School in Kabul. There he became a student of music under Ustaad Erfan Mohammad Khan, where he learned classical Sitar (Sitar is a plucked stringed instrument that was predominantly used in Hindustani classical music). During the beginnings of the Talib regime, many musicians fled the country of Afghanistan. Because of this, Najim had to quit the music school and stop playing the Sitar.
Najim’s father was a big fan of music and had collected many different musical instruments such as the Harmonium, Tabla, Guitar, Accordion, Violin and Zerbaghali. So Najim began using the music education he had earned and began to learn how to play the accordion, and the harmonium. After that, he began learning how to play the keyboard. Najim also made a commitment to excel in his education and improve his knowledge of music when began taking classical music lessens at Ustaad Sandeep Bhatacharya for two years. In 1996 he performed for the first time in front of hundreds while playing at a Cultural Celebration that was located in Venlo, Holland.
From then on he became a regular performer for cultural and celebratory events in Holland. Najim was also invited to be one of the artists that was chosen for a compilation CD " "De Weeshuis”. The Album included artists from many different countries and had two of Najim’s songs. The CD was released in Holland in 2001.
