"Microjoy has the best qualities of a fun party band – Playfull Ruckus, good-natured jams and an unbelievably wide range of musical influences to make sure all the people in the crowd are touched with the fever.", -RVA MAG Microjoy started at the Spring of 2006 in Richmond, Va. when 3 longtime friends decided it was time to get together and jam and it worked magically like they had been playing together for years. The boys played their first show at 9n.boulevard, house show. Richmond was in transition, clubs were shutting down and a lot of house shows were going down.

Microjoy got to play one of the last shows at twisters and played with great richmond bands like vcr, ann beretta, ameoba men,and the hot damns,... this was when municipal waste was getting big and bands like matt & kim were playing house shows in oregon hill at the bonezone. Then the city decided to get rid of the house shows with what was called the party patrol,"hence the name of the song 'party patrol' on microjoy's 1st album" then came nara sushi, comic book stores and some other small places that aloud smaller underground bands to play, now that the PP was shutting down all the house shows. Microjoy's first album "Positive Force" was released on indie label Kingosabi Records late in 2006.

The band had 2 different sessions with two different producers. 1st session was with Jason Laffeara who recorded all the vcr records which microjoy, especially craig, loves a bunch. 2nd session was with allen bourgendal who did work for brainworms and tons of other cool bands. Both took place at the infamous "The Barn" in Ashland, Viking Recordings.

Microjoy's 2nd Album came out again on Kingosabi Records in 2008. Comprised of 3 different sessions, one with Allen Bourgedal again at the Barn, the next session was done at the laundry room otherwise known as microjoy's practice pad with ian from blunt logic records for the rawer sound, and last but not least, Palmer's studio in the city where we ended up putting some cool samples on it and had Kelsey from " the hot damns" come play mandilin and violin on some songs like Hawaii. Then a 7inch split was recorded in 2009 with the werewolves, also, with Palmer. the 7inch is looking for a record label due to the last label went under.

with rad songs from both bands, 3 songs each, and gnarly album art...hanging with werewolves.. is one of the songs microjoy did. The band is currently working on a new full length and record it in early 2011. With like 50 songs to sort, it should be the soundtrack of 2011.
