Michelle Macedo is a recent graduate of Emerson College with a B.F.A. in Acting. She was born and raised in Pasadena, California and has been performing since a very young age. Her literate, intimate, stately music has been turning heads everywhere she has performed, from Los Angeles’s Tribal Café to the All Asia Cafe in Boston. Her whimsical, ethereal tunes can be compared to Regina Spektor, Beth Orton, or Joni Mitchell, but Michelle has a style all her own. Her debut album La Luna was released in 2006 and has received a great deal of praise.

It was produced by Boston’s OutTake Records and is available on iTunes. Her songs have been featured on Los Angeles’s STAR 98.7 FM, Columbia University’s WKCR 89.9 FM, Northeastern Univeristy’s WRBB 104.9 FM, and she has even performed on Emerson College’s well-known WERS. Michelle is no stranger to performing. She is a member of Emerson’s up-and-coming Random Arts Delegation, which features and assortment of performing artists including renowned spoken word artist George Watsky (www.georgewatsky.com). She has also performed with Southern California’s activist {AMAR} Collective (www.myspace.com/amarcollective).

An original song was just featured in a "Bad Mind" film named "Warren Budd and his propeller plane" directed by Jackson Adams and score composed by Kush Mody. Recently, Michelle starred in and wrote the score for the pilot for the show “Age Appropriate” (www.myspace.com/ageappropriate), which won “Best Pilot” at the Independent Television Awards. Michelle also starred in another sit-com pilot produced by Kevin S. Bright called "Browne at Midnight". Currently, she is about to release her most recent album in August of this year. Working on the album was Justin Gerrish (known for MGMT and Vampire Weekend) for mixing and Fred Kevorkian (Regina Spektor) for mastering. Her identical twin sister is featured on the album and is also an actor in LA.

This album features a full string quartet and a completely revised sound. Keep in tune for what this up and coming artist is going to do next! Her release show is at the Hotel Cafe in Lost Angeles,Ca and the All Asia Bar in Boston, Ma. She is currently living in Los Angeles, Ca. Read more on Last.fm.
