raised in Durham NC where he began classical piano lessons at the age of 8. During the ages of 8 through 14 he won numerous music awards at district, state and national levels. Hearing Elton John's 1970 self titled album along with the likes of Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, Dave Matthews band, Billy Joel, U2 and others expanded his musical aspirations from classical to rock and pop. After a few years of being one of North Carolina’s top entertainers making headway on the local charts, he pursued a second passion which was dance.
After wasting away in college for 1 1/2 years he decided to get back into music. Michael saw his first dueling piano show at the age of 16,.sneaking into a Chapel Hill NC club with a fake ID to hear the show every night. Eventually he shelled out 20 bucks to play a song onstage. The club instantly hired him at $25 a night.
The next couple of years he waited tables by day and performer music at night. Since then Michael has established himself as raisng young talent in the dueling piano profession performing in clubs throughout the country. He’s had the honor and privilege of playing with some of the top people in the dueling piano world including: Joey Granati, Mark Andert, Jeff Martin, Karl Bailey, Matt Alterio, Danny McElroy, Ben Michaels, and Noel Leeman just to name a few. Being on the road for 2 years as a dueling piano player, he has learned that audience like less technically complex songs that they can feel and understand (such as those of Billy Joel and Elton John). His goal is to make music people will love and enjoy. Read more on Last.fm.
