After playing shows, mostly as a 5-person group, something just wasn’t working. Jake and Sara decided to get to work on the full length record and stop with the live shows for a bit due to the number of songs they had written, which seemed to keep growing. Soon after getting to work on the record, Mevansa decided to take a break and give the music time to breathe. As the recordings for the album began to wrap up, Gustavo was brought in as a full time member of the band making the group a 3 piece.
In July of 2010, “Give Me The Glass” the debut album, was finally released after being worked on for nearly 2 years. Now, the task was to bring these songs to life in a live setting. Something was still missing and it began to frustrate the band. The songs were there but they weren’t being presented in the right way.
They spent some much needed time trying to find the right “sound”. After going “electric” and adding drums to the songs, everything clicked. The songs were completely rewritten and reworked. This is just what needed to happen to both the songs, and to the band.
Two years later, in the winter of 2010, the group started writing new material and shifted away from the “acoustic/folk” sound to a more mature, in your face “indie/rock” sound, that fits just right. These guys (and gal) are stepping up in their writing abilities fast and are planning to record their follow up E.P. this spring. Their next full length will soon follow, aiming for a release date in the late summer of 2011.
