There are 3 bands named melk. One is French [melk] pop band that has released 2 albums on Un Dimanche indie French label. More infos on http://myspace.com/melkmusic The second Melk is danish electro duo (see description below) whose album was released by Statler & Waldorf. No newcomers to the electronic scene, producer duo Rasmus Møbius & Anders Christophersen have been well-known faces in the Danish electronic scene for several years, both releasing solo works on various labels. Their collaborative work as Melk sees them emphasizing their dub and hip-hop influences, combined with soulful samples and a range of vocal and instrumental collaborators: Melk add plenty of real acoustic instruments like trumpet and Hammond organto their own sample-based rhythms.

This forms the music side of Melk, the vocals are part MC’ing (by various guest MCs), and part soul'ish singing by Ane Trolle, reminiscent of 70ies Motown lightness. In brief, a mix of Prefuse 73 and Wackies. Prominent guests from the Danish hiphop scene dropped by Melks studio, showing prime cuts and scratches from Malk De Koijn vet Tue Track and vocal performance from Nobody Beats the Beats’ Context and former Prince Po collaborator Gisli. On the more dubby side, Bahamas rooted Tuco contributed the song 'Like Rock & Roll', and Ane Trolle feature on two of the albums tracks. The third band named Milk hails from Athens, OH and is comprised of members of the My Idea of Fun artist collective.

They are a noisy rock band with a sad but hopeful sound. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
