Taking his inspiration from the abrasive tones of Detroit Techno, the harsh soundscapes of Electro-Bass and the blissful contextual elements of IDM, Matt's sound is a journey through the raw components of underground dance music. Taking his inspiration from the abrasive tones of Detroit Techno, the harsh soundscapes of Electro-Bass and the blissful contextual elements of IDM, Matt's sound is a journey through the raw components of underground dance music. Every piece lending itself to the tag of 'album track' whilst retaining that dancefloor groove. As a DJ foremost his productions have developed around his DJ style, which has in turn morphed into a 3 deck and Laptop setup running Ableton Live. This allows for the dynamic, raw and loose grooves of 3 deck techno, whilst adding an extra dimension to the mix with a blend of loops, re-edits and live remixes from the laptop.

His sound has taken him to Bulgaria, Copenhagen, London, Plymouth, Shrewsbury, Manchester and Birmingham, playing alongside the likes of Audion (Matthew Dear), Josh Wink, John Acquaviva, James Lavelle, Thomas Schumacher, Hyper, Fergie, Alloy Mental, Chris Finke and Ade Fenton. Matt has also started performing Live sets of his own material, using a mix of software and hardware to build a bed of loops that can be jammed on the fly. This improvised style means no set will ever sound like the last; retaining maximum energy for the dancefloor. Further projects include his production duo with m0dular matt, Tappeto Grande.

Under this guise, the pair have been performing Live sets across the country, syncing two laptops and a smattering of hardware to create a back-to-back Live set; pushing the limits of what current technology has to offer. Another recent incarnation has been the Noodle Damage project, which has seen the development of an electronic band comprising Tappeto Grande on the laptops and drum machines, Margovan on the decks, Josh Blyton on Bass and Craig Sylvester on vocals. This is a totally improvised project, in the vein of The Bays. The debut performance at Substance has received strong feedback and the plan is to take this concept on the road.

Aside from DJ-ing up and down the country, producing his music or working on the band, Matt also promotes the Noodle events. Noodle runs monthly at Moog in Nottingham, UK, with a range of guests that includes DMX Krew, Luke's Anger, Chris Finke, Spewis, Computer Controlled and Bass Invaders.
