Mats Larsson Gothe, born June 29, 1965, is a Swedish composer. Larsson Gothe studied at Ingesunds College of Music in the 1980s and then went on to study composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm from 1988 to 1995 with, among others, Sven-David Sandström, Pär Lindgren and Daniel Börtz as teachers. After graduating, he worked as a composer full time. He completed his studies for a year at the Sibelius Academy, 1990-1991 by Kalevi Aho teachers and different periods of study in Italy, where he studied with Atli Ingólfsson. Read more on Last.fm

Larsson Gothe studied at Ingesunds College of Music in the 1980s and then went on to study composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm from 1988 to 1995 with, among others, Sven-David Sandström, Pär Lindgren and Daniel Börtz as teachers. After graduating, he worked as a composer full time. He completed his studies for a year at the Sibelius Academy, 1990-1991 by Kalevi Aho teachers and different periods of study in Italy, where he studied with Atli Ingólfsson. Larsson Gothe has composed in many different genres with an emphasis on orchestral music and solo concerts, but also chamber music and opera. He made a major breakthrough with the full-length opera Poet & Prophetess, premiered at the Norrland Opera in March 2008.

He received the little Christ Johnson Prize in 2003 for his Violin Concerto (2000-01), Carin Malmlöf-Forssling Prize 2008 and Bo Wallner-prize in 2009.
