In 2005, Martini Drinkers emerged in Bogotá. Playing Ska as keen musicians, Cristian Bonilla ‘Tetas’ (vocals), Felipe Camacho (lead guitar-backing vocals), Diego Flórez (bass) and Daniel Ramírez (drums) met in Colegio Calasanz and decided that they were just ready to let go and make their own music. With Paula Gutiérrez playing backing vocals for Cristian they played some gigs and were in some contests. In 2007, new members joined in; Didier Pinzón came to back Felipe in the guitar, Ricardo Caro started playing trumpet, and Jairo Saavedra filled the band’s atmosphere with his saxophone. Paula Gutiérrez left the band in mid 2007.

As they were performing, they focused on their own songwriting, and decided to mix Ska with different genres; Trash Metal, Speed Metal, Long beach California Reggae style, Southern California Punk Rock, the result was a new Ska genre: Skatrash. Nowadays, they blend these music influences exceeding everyone’s expectations for such an eclectic playing. A new member, ‘Neto’ Villamil is now adding some Latin percussion. SKACORE FROM HELL! Adapted from a journal by Alejandra Segura, 2008. Read more on Last.fm.
