As a composer, he has written pieces for solo instruments, numerous chamber groups, wind ensemble, works for instruments with electronics, fixed media electronic music, as well as music for video games and media. As a composer, he has written pieces for solo instruments, numerous chamber groups, wind ensemble, works for instruments with electronics, fixed media electronic music, as well as music for video games and media. Groups he has worked with include Friction Quartet, Mobius Trio, The Living Earth Show, the International Low Brass Trio, and the Del Sol String Quartet among many others. In 2015, Mario was awarded a grant from the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music to compose a new work for the Einsteinium Saxophone Quartet to be premiered in 2017 at the Center for New Music in San Francisco.

As a saxophonist, he has performed professionally across the gamut of musical genres having performed with the Redlands Symphony Orchestra on multiple occasions, multiple chamber groups, jazz big bands, jazz combos, and rock bands. His most notable ongoing performance project is as the saxophonist and live electronics player for Oakland-based experimental pop band, Makeunder. He holds a Master of Music degree in composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as well as a Bachelor of Music Degree in Saxophone Performance from the University of Redlands. http://www.mariogodoy.com Read more on Last.fm.
