Like a shoe repair shop, a watchmaker, or a tailor, but who makes repairs within us, emotional epairs. From Manoel's understanding, to go on without the expectation of being a factory of emotions on a big scale. "If I can help repair what a small clientele feels, I'm satisfied", says the singer. Prior to his solo career, Manoel was also the founder of the bands Polar in 2005, and Harmada in 2010, as well as being a guitarist and one of the composers of the group Columbia (2005-06). He has played in major festivals in Brazil, opened concerts for international artists such as British band Placebo and also composes soundtracks for movies and television.
He took part in the tribute to legendary Brazilian singer Belchior "Ainda Somos os Mesmos" (We are Still the Same) with a version for the song “Velha Roupa Colorida” (Old Colored Clothing). His band Harmada's debut album from 2011, "Música Vulgar para Corações Surdos” (Vulgar Music for Deaf Hearts), was featured in the main Brazilian websites and blogs specialized in music, and featured in several lists of best of the year, such as the newspaper O Globo. The album was nominated for the Dynamite Independent Music Award in the Best Indie Album category and was among the 30 finalists of the festival "Música Para Todo Mundo" (Music For Everyone Festival), by Oi Música label. The video for the song "Corações Surdos" (Deaf Hearts) was selected for the Vivo Movida exhibit, which featured the country's main independent video clips in five Brazilian cities.
The album was also a soundtrack to the third edition of the reality show Capricho Fashion Season on Boomerang channel. The video for "Luz Fria" was featured on main Brazilian channels as MTV Brazil, Multishow, Bis, Brasil Channel, Play TV and BRZ. Read more on Last.fm.
