Mad Intentions, a high school Tasmanian rock/pop four piece outfit, have gone further than their music being circulated around the school yard. In 2008 Mad Intentions wasted no time in announcing their arrival, signing onto independent record label, River City Records and supporting big named acts such as Jimmy Barnes, Diesel, Horsell Common, and Trail Kennedy. Their efforts in the Tas Music Rock Challenge late that year saw the boys take out second place in the state final. In early 2009 Mad Intentions recorded their debut single ‘Never the Same’ with award winning Tasmanian producer & engineer Dave Venter. The song quickly climbed the Triple J Unearthed national charts, reaching No.

2 after its first week of release and then peaked to No.1 for the next consecutive week. ‘Never the Same’ became an Unearthed icon, being played on Triple J radio and featured in the sites jukebox play list. Mad Intentions now gig regularly, often playing at popular night clubs and are frequently booked for various private functions along the North West coast. The boys keep up a tight schedule of rehearsals, all in anticipation of releasing their first debut EP. Through River City Records, the band has secured a distribution deal with MGM and should eventually have product released on I-Tunes and submitted to Radio Stations such as Nova and Sea FM.

The future of Mad Intentions is looking bright, and the boys all look forward to the challenges and experience that next year has to offer. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
