Mad Gear Gang is a one man ambient electro/house project by james lifetime. Carrying various influences, common instrumental knowlege, and an interest in slow-pop/dance music, Mad Gear Gang is a work of simplicity, and inspiration, and it shows in his new EP, Minimalist Mixes. Minimalist Mixes to date has 4 tracks, with two more on the way to complete the EP. Mad Gear Gang is a one man ambient electro/house project by james lifetime. Carrying various influences, common instrumental knowlege, and an interest in slow-pop/dance music, Mad Gear Gang is a work of simplicity, and inspiration, and it shows in his new EP, Minimalist Mixes. Minimalist Mixes to date has 4 tracks, with two more on the way to complete the EP. While the tracks are pretty basic, it shows some promise of improvement, and more technical advancements in the future.

The music itself carries 80's electro, with modern house influence, and video game samples. The name "Mad Gear Gang" is taken from the enemy gang in the arcade game Final Fight. Before Mad Gear Gang, james was a member of crunkcore project Something Ate Scotland, where he produced music, and did a share of the writing, alongside nate runyon (raps), and josh hawkins (low vocals). After a backlash of negative hype, and public misunderstandings, the project disband after a mere 3 months. Two songs we're wrote, and recorded ("Tree Fiddy" & "Straight Fuzzin'") but never seen the light of day.

Although an intro track did surface on james lifetime's personal myspace, it contained no vocals, and only lasted 2 minutes, (in vein of 3OH!3's "Tapp). James then moved to KY, and started Mad Gear Gang on his own, using his bass guitar, recording software, moog synths, and fruity loops. Read more on Last.fm.
