They use ska, skatepunk, and classic punk elements in their music. They toured with Auróra and even performed on the largest music festival of Central-Europe, Sziget. Macskanadrág was third place on the '96 Mezőtúr talent. Their first release, A látszat csal was also published in 1996 by Trottel Records.
Many of their songs were featured on compilation albums. In 1997 they performed on many festivals and also started touring, performing in most cities of Hungary. Their fanbase grew quickly and the Macskanadrág name soon became known to all punk-rockers of the country and many beyond the borders, especially thanks to their continuous touring. Modern Szerenád was released through Edge Records and became a huge success.
Most of the album's songs became hits, and their popularity rose sky-high. In 2003 they released another full-length album, A csillag még késik. Macskanadrág continued touring, performing on most festivals, once supporting Dead Kennedys. Robi left the band in 2006, but that couldn't stop the band.
Ex-Alvin és a mókusok drummer Figula Gergő joined and in 2009 they released their latest album, Porból lettél, porrá leszel followed by excessive touring.
