Nashville native Mac Gayden got many gigs as a studio musician appearing on albums by Bob Dylan and J.J. Cale (among others). He created the famous "slide-wah" guitar technique, playing slide guitar through a wah-wah pedal - made famous by J.J. Cale's "Crazy Mama." During the late 60's, he wrote and performed with Area Code 615, a group of the same studio musicians who recorded on Bob Dylan's "Blonde on Blonde" LP. Mac Gayden remained with them for the first album, "Southern Delight," but the group went on to perform many more critically acclaimed albums.
