The following period of two years was a mind-altering musical trip. Later, after several non-satisfying demo tapes, the basis of Lurido was about to collapse. Songs kept on in Jarno´s and Marko´s dynamic duo, which had an acoustic approach on playing slightly disturbed looping riffs, and also finding out interesting vocal harmonies to go along. A few days after the duo´s first gig, bass player Ari Hossi gave his interest in Lurido´s music. The fretless bass gave a significant spice to the acoustic soundscape, and Ari´s harmonic approach made the songs more vivid.
After half a year of playing as a trio, the drummer Timo Juntunen forced his way behind the drum set and so there was a quartet again. This line-up seems to work and the results are enough to motivate Lurido further musically. The songs come from Jarno´s and Marko´s material and the composition is made collective: four members on the same subject, expanding their philosophy on music. All members value practising and developing a new sound. Concentrating on creating mystical and psychologically intense live performances led to the first satisfying recorded versions of Lurido songs. More work is to be done, more places to go, more people to meet, more songs to be heard. What else there is to say about something everyone can hear by themselves? If we composed an image of a dirty shoe which would appear to us as the most beautiful musical structure, wouldn´t it be more interesting not to know it´s an image of a shoe and for example believe it´s a message from a god and get a chance to levitate for a while? Emotional landscapes are closer at reach when there´s no need to go looking for them with a stained map.
