They have toured Ireland four times now, playing everywhere from The Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar to Shoot the Crows in Sligo and The Strand in Strandhill. They added Neachtain's Pub in Galway City this year, along with return engagements along the Western Coast. They have appeared on CRCfm in Castlebar and twice as guests of Michael Commins at Mid-West Radio 96.1. Janine Newfield, a violinist whose music is filled with such passion you'd think (as do we) that she was born in the glow of a Gypsy campfire, joined Lucky Mud on two of their latest releases, Slippery Slope and Underneath the Florida Moon. The fourth to appear on CD Baby is their latest, Karmageddon - 14 new originals by Maggie and Mike McKinney. They introduced some of them in the CMT Room at the North American Folk Alliance in Memphis, February 2007.
Lucky Mud's other CDs, Slippery Slope, Southern Zen and Underneath the Florida Moon (this one recorded at home after a hurricane destroyed the studio) are available on CD baby. Slippery Slope contains 13 of their original songs, from Folk to Acoustic Blues and Americana. Underneath the Florida Moon features 12 of their original Florida folk songs (celebrating their native state), and Southern Zen is a mix of originals along with two traditional Irish songs, Someday by Steve Earle and That's My Toy by Steve Fisher. We hope you enjoy Lucky Mud, and we love hearing from you. Read more on Last.fm.
