"This is absolutely brilliant and the passion of this work and recording is wonderfully intense. It swings perfectly, it drives with blazing fire." - Joel Thome, Grammy awarded composer, conductor and arranger (worked with Frank Zappa, Vladimir Feltsman, Brooklyn philharmonic, etc.) Love: Triptych is a jazz / pop project formed in New York in 2008 as part of a larger progect - Love: Triptych musical / dance / drama / new media show dedicated to contemporary reality: how to live and love in year 2010? (Author and show-developer - Andrey Ankudinov) Their first release - "Visions of a Show" foreshadows the first, "classical-part-of-now" Movement of the show and primarily contains tonal jazz and pop music, enriched with compositional techniques of the "late tonal style" (Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Shostakovich). The music is ultimately finely crafted, yet filled with vitality of jazz solos and gracefulness of vocal work. The highlight of the album is a unique rendition of "Body and Soul" jazz standard with contrapuntal "passacaglia" middle section - "a polyphonic journey through subconsciousness", and charged with true emotional power of a young girl's love masterfully performed by singer Ann Di. Body and Soul 2.0 won the Downbeat award for the best jazz arrangement in 2010.
