Los Felinos de la Noche

The new Mexican sensation Los Felinos de la Noche (which in English means the felines of the night) is a product of destiny, a spirit of fighting to achieve a dream and a great musical talent. - It was on a spring morning in south Florida, José Zamarripa the basist from the Mexican state of Zacatecas; Dustin García, drummer from Florida; and Teo Poot, singer from Los Angeles and raised in the state of Sinaloa Mexico, packed up their instruments for the opportunity which would change their lives. - For years, the band members fought to shine in the music world, each one on his own, while working during the day at other professions. But destiny united them for an audition to be in a US Spanish language commercial for State Farm that needed some talented musicians. This was the opportunity they needed to shine. During the audition, Teo, José and Dustin won the hearts of the producers, and were chosen among the hundreds of musicians to be the stars of the commercial.

A short while later, their talent, and the good luck to have been in the right place at the right time, put them on the road to stardom. - Now reunited as a band, Los Felinos de la Noche found that the time they were dedicating to the band was not enough. This time was limited because they were having to work hard during the day as gardeners, construction workers, and at various other jobs, and only in the evening could they spare time for their music. Then the opportunity presented itself to them to play a round of four very important cities for fans of Mexican music, and they decided to lay it all on the line and become full-time professional musicians. - Each member had developed his musical tastes from an early age. Each member also had had opportunities to perform in various shows before they got the commercial gig. Dustin, the drummer, began his musical adventures playing drums in a family band when he was just a teenager, Teo had played with stars such as Karyme Lozano and Bebu Silvetti, and José had recorded his songs with a band consisting of his relations before becoming a member of Los Felinos de la Noche. - With a regional Mexican style rich in the accordion, drums and rhythm and influences from cumbia and pop, Los Felinos de la Noche sing about overcoming obstacles, hard work to get ahead, family values, and how to accomplish ones dreams.

The lyrics are very positive, happy and danceable. They used their first song “Ahí Estoy” to liven up a segment of the show “Nuestra Belleza Latina” which aired on the Univisión network to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. - In the summer of 2008, Los Felinos de la Noche played their first tour in Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles, cities where they shared the stage with well known bands such as La Arrolladora Banda Limón, Beto y Sus Canarios and Alacranes Musical. - With their own website, a promotional cd, and the same passion to do things in grand style, they remain loyal to their humble principles. Their hunger for success and their great talent have begun to win the hearts of the Latin public in the United states. And aí están (their they are)! - www.losfelinosdelanoche.com Read more on Last.fm.
