Le Gros Ballon

Somewhere between dream and play, where the song meets the divertissement, there lives Le Gros Ballon, a highly cinematic musical project. Francesco Campanozzi and Marco Capra, musicians with a long experience (Fabrizio Coppola, Marco Notari, Pekisch, Nuovi Orizzonti Artificiali, Baise-Noir, Passo Uno), gave life to instrumental pieces which are entirely composed, arranged and performed by the two. Starting from pure improvisation and using any sort of instrument or object, Le Gros Ballon's music amuses and excites. It's like being on board a balloon flying among the clouds.

The duo starts playing live in 2009, sharing the stage with bands like Bachi da Pietra, Comaneci and 2Pigeons. In April 2010 the band releases with CasaMedusa "Le Gros Ballon", its self-titled debut album which gains excellent reviews (Mtv Brand New, Rockit, Blow Up, Losthighways). Le Gros Ballon's songs are selected for several compilations in Italy and abroad and for the soundtrack to the documentary "Il lupo in calzoncini corti", on air on Italian major TV channel RAITRE. Meanwhile the duo composes the entire soundtrack for another documentary, on air in 2011 on CURRENT TV.

In November 2010 Le Gros Ballon releases a new record, the EP "La Nuit", which features a duet with Italian indie-pop rising star Denise and the title track "La nuit", in collaboration with the French theatre writer Alexandra Dadier. http://www.myspace.com/legrosballon http://legrosballon.bandcamp.com/ http://twitter.com/LeGrosBallon http://www.facebook.com/legrosballon Read more on Last.fm.
