Latino Experience formed in the winter of 2008. They hail from Otown and are best described as an Indie Core band. The band consists of Johnny Bananas (lead vocals, guitar), ScarFinger (back up vocals, guitar) and The Blur (drummer). The band has gone through a variety of name changes including Latino Experience, The Mudkipz (joke), Epidemic, Animal Mechanicals?, and possibly a few others.

They're infamous for covering brit pop such as Oasis, Coldplay, and post brit pop like the Arctic Monkeys. In the winter of 2008 they took HHS by storm by destroying the talent show with they're wildly amazing two song set, consisting of Viva La Vida and Don't Look Back in Anger. They became instant stars at the school. They then agreed to play a benefit and charity show for the cancer drive, finally unveiling their number one hit "Semi Formal Blues" to the world, their other song was.......

no surprise here.... Wonderwall by Oasis. The show was somewhat of a flop but once again the band managed to garner attention and turn heads. Next up was their last show as 11th graders, this time it would be at the Multi Cultural / Talent Show of May 2009.

They were criticized for playing Don't Look Back in Anger once again, but to their credit they did a better job and their epic lead guitarist, Latino, destroyed the solo. Their first song was I Bet You Look Good on the Dance floor by the Arctic Monkeys. It was going alright, until the mid point where they messed up. It was a show to forget for the young band.

They considered it to be a good year, considering they played three shows and gained a massive following. But their first show was their best. They followed the multicultural show with a headlining performance at Hillcrest High School's 2009 Talent Show. It was not as successful as their first show.

Critics were wondering what went wrong. Well, Hillcrest's tech crew messed up big time. The boys opened with Perfect Situation by Weezer, it was set to be a great cover but SF's guitar could not even be heard until the solo. His guitar was also out of tune and he messed up the solo.

H1N1 was a success, albeit not as great as the band would have wanted. Regardless, with that last song they bid farewell to Hillcrest and their high school days. That was back in 2009. Fast Forward to 2012 and the boys are gearing up for what's sure to be an eventful summer.

They've been working on plenty of new material, even with The Blur away for school. New songs include: Death & Destruction, No Longer Alone, Cut Against the Grain, OMG Me Too!, Happy Day, Fire Desire and many others. Their long awaited debut album is scheduled to release this summer. The band have also announced an Ottawa wide summer tour.

They're slated to perform at the prestigious Bloc Party of Chapman Boulevard along with several parties and basement gigs, culminating with a performance at Wembley Stadium in London. The band has recently added a few new gigs, including Australia's Sydney Opera House, the Super Bowl half time show and the Moon. New songs they've been working on include: Over 9000, Inmansity, Mid Air with Maria among others. Read more on Last.fm.
