Last Year's Best is a band originally from Kent, Washington, now located in Pleasanton, California. The band consists of brothers Matthew and Michael Yankovich, on guitar/vocals and drums/vocals, respectively, guitarist Steven Gonzales, and vocalist Dayleane Crawford. After forming in December 2005 from the band Gone But Not Forgotten, the band dropped their bassist and vocalist, and recruited a classmate to fill in the role of bassist, after changing their name. Zamora then took over lead vocals as well as guitar. After making a name for themselves in the local scene, the Yankovich brothers found out that they would be moving to California.

The band went on a break in July 2006, although played a one off show in December 2006. In July of 2007, Zamora flew down to California to help record an EP with the band. Comprised of the two Last Year's Best original songs, along with a few of Gone But Not Forgotten's tracks, the EP was recorded by Brad Barth of Audio Voyage Studios in Livermore, California in three days. After a short demo session in 2008, the band remained stagnant until guitarist Steven Gonzales joined in the Fall. The band spent the entirety of 2009 writing music, and after numerous mishaps with failed singers, vocalist Dayleane Crawford was acquired.

The band then recorded three of the new tracks in December 2009 and January 2010 at the Panda Studios with Sam Pura (Heavy Heavy Low Low, Lionheart). With a solid lineup, the band now plans to play shows and tour. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
