Kukim - Morgantown Sound Show

Kukim was a band from Morgantown WV in the mid-ninties that was short-lived…unfortunately for their fans. They were one of the most intricate-sounding Hardrock groups ever, and their shows were amazing. They were loud, energetic, and very polished. Their music was fairly complex, with tight changes and pauses that made their sound very dynamic. The level of emotion that they put out at their shows was fantastic. They were all excellent musicians and great people to work with. Read more on Last.fm

The level of emotion that they put out at their shows was fantastic. They were all excellent musicians and great people to work with. This group of songs was recorded September 17th, 1994 on a weekly radio show called “The Morgantown Sound” broadcast from the West Virginia University radio station, U-92-FM. This recording was made at the station itself, with the musicians set up in between the desks of the work area at the station, so there was no live audience. After a conference room was built next to the radio station over the summer the next year the show was moved to “The Nyabinghi Dance Hall” on Pleasant St.

in Morgantown. It was free and all ages broadcast live from the venue, with Squirrel Sound donating their sound system and personnel. In my opinion, Kukim and Lincoln were the best of the hard bands to play my show. The recording came out good considering the sound equipment that was used. I had to borrow stuff from a few practice rooms around town until we moved the show to the venue.

I did the show 1993 to 2007 and enjoyed it all. Orville The Band: Jay Demko - guitar / vocals Ben Doyle - bass / vocals Chris Turco - guitar / vocals Justin Wierbonski - drums Read more on Last.fm.
